TROUBLE! OMEN?*****Susan's Blog
We have been waiting and working hard for this day for so long and we were supposed to leave today on our 'great adventure'.
We were packed.
We were ready.
We pulled in two of the three slides.
Wait! Oh No!
Large third slide is ONLY COMING IN ON ONE END!
With the help of Mischa, service manager of BTAC in Milton, and some neighbours at Milton Heights Campground, we tried to fix
and\or push the very heavy slide in. It would not budge!
Many phone calls to Leisure Days (RV purchased from them) only got us the answer--sorry everyone has gone home. Will not return until Monday.
A phone call to Bob Carter at KZ in Indiana, and amazingly two of Leisure Days’ techs happened to return to pick up something. They were dispatched to us.
The two techs (who were great) managed.....after two hours working in freezing cold.....to temporarily fix the slide and close it.
Seems the manufacturer had made the supporting rod for the slide TOO SHORT!!!

We will have to live without putting out the main slide all the way to Florida!
This means, climbing over the kitchen counter to get to the bedroom and bathroom area.
The centre island will remain up against the kitchen counter and stove.
We can barely reach the sink, and can only open one door of the fridge.
We have been in contact with Bob (Warranty Manager at KZ). He suggested we come straight to Indiana (where RV was built) and they would fix it there. Problem is they will be closed for inventory until Tuesday (today is Friday).
We would never make it to Port Canaveral to meet our daughter Catherine, her boyfriend Bryan and Mitts (kitten) in time for Christmas.
So....we have arranged to stay overnight at Milton Campground and will leave tomorrow December 16th, for a warmer climate.
This is not how the adventure was to begin!
